TIME TO UNWIND

Make the time your time

Tick Tock packEver noticed how slow the time goes when you’ve got nothing to do? Or how fast it disappears when you’re working round the clock?

We've put our heads together here to come up with a few ways of turning the tables.

Breakfast Time

Eat breakfast with your Tick Tock. And try to do it sitting down. Choose a mood to accompany you for the day ahead. If you don't, someone else might do it for you.

Morning Time

Little and often is the way. Try and take a minute out of every hour. Imagine your head moving back. Don’t physically move it, just imagine it. It's a tried and tested Alexander Technique. Mind over matter.

Your head will move back to its natural position of its own accord. Even a couple of millimetres will take pressure off the spine and allow your head to rise.

Lunch Time

Get a diary and write for five minutes. Whatever comes into your head. Freestyle. Worries, desires, hopes and fears. The more aware you are of them – good and bad – the more you’ll be able to do something about them.

Tea Time

If you get sluggish, stop time dragging by taking a break outside for a couple of minutes.

Look up in the sky. Wait till you hear or see a bird. Extra points if you see one catch a slug…

Bed Time

De-stress and clear your head for bed. Gently press your ear lobes between thumb & forefinger to release the tension in your jaw, neck and shoulders.

If you’re awake in the middle of the night, don’t lie in bed thinking about it for too long. Get up, make a cup of Tick Tock – some people even add an extra teabag to make it really strong – and read a boring book.

Algebra for Adults maybe or Installing and Hanging Doors, Inside and Out should have you back to sleep in no time.

We’d love to know.
